Key Responsibilities:- Perform basic and advanced donor and patient tests to determine compatibility and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Provide consultation and support to hospitals and transfusion services to ensure the safe and effective use of blood products.
- Manage the receipt, coordination, and shipment of patient and donor blood samples, including ordering and inspecting reagents and maintaining accurate records.
- Perform maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment and software, as well as provide training and education to staff and external customers.
- MT(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) certification, or equivalent, with a bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry, or MLT(ASCP) certification with 5 years of laboratory experience.
- State license may be required, depending on the location.
- SBB(ASCP) certification and/or experience in a reference laboratory.
