Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure a smooth surgical process.
  • Preparation: Anticipate the necessary supplies and equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring everything is ready for use.
  • Patient Care: Deliver direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Equipment Handling: Safely apply and utilize specialized surgical equipment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Count Procedures: Conduct accurate counts of instruments and supplies to prevent any discrepancies during surgery.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a surgical setting is required.
  • Current BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Experience with Epic software is preferred.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, with exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis.
Work Environment

This position involves working in a fast-paced surgical environment, requiring physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods. The role may involve lifting and transferring patients, as well as responding swiftly during emergencies.
