Job Title: Strategic Financial Planning Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Financial Planning Manager to join our team at AppFolio, Inc. As a key member of our Finance team, you will be responsible for building, managing, and maintaining key financial models that drive the company's strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain value assessment (ROI) and performance tracking for all investments and business initiatives in support of our multi-horizon growth strategy.
  • Build and maintain complex financial models that support strategic decision-making for key business partners.
  • Take problem statements from the business and build financial models from scratch to help solve those problems and enhance decision-making.
  • Develop and refine long-term forecasting models to support company-wide strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to inform key business decisions.
  • Work closely with Finance, Product Growth Initiatives, R&D, and other business teams to guide and influence strategic choices and operational strategies.
  • Partner with Analytics to create meaningful reports and dashboards in Tableau for stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes and models, ensuring scalability and efficiency in strategic planning.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in strategic finance, investment banking, corporate development, or management consulting.
  • Prior experience in SaaS or high-growth tech companies is a plus.
  • Experience with Anaplan is a plus.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, with a strong ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets is required; experience with SQL is also a plus.
  • Ensures data accuracy through the implementation of systematic and self-check processes.
  • Highly ambitious with a desire to take ownership of all aspects of your work, a team-first attitude, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary for this role is $115,000 - $160,000. The actual base salary will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skills, education, experience, etc.

Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.

Regular full-time employees are eligible for benefits.
