Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and confidential records, attend hearings, and provide support to the Orphans' Court Division.
  • Assist in the supervision of marriage licenses, delinquent guardian projects, and other Orphans' Court Division filings.
  • Communicate with the Court, prepare court documents, and perform other duties as required.
  • Receive and review documents for accuracy and completeness, type, prepare, and dockets cases processed through the department.
  • Collect fees, issue receipts, process tax payments, dockets, and files notices.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, greet and assist clients at the counter, take affidavits, answer questions, and process marriage applications.
  • Answer phone inquiries, direct questions to proper individuals or other departments, and prepare files for scanning and docketing.
  • Assist with genealogy research, ensure all duties are completed accurately and timely, and perform other job-related duties as required.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented with business school courses in the secretarial and computer field. Associate Degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.
  • 4-5 years of working experience in a legal setting with supervisory experience preferred.
