Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Excela Health. As an RN Subsidiary Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and support to patients in our outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care in accordance with the RN Practice Act, hospital, and/or physician practice policies, procedures, protocols, and other professional standards of care.
  • Collect patient health care data, including vital signs, weight, chief complaint, and pain assessment, focusing on the physical, psychosocial, age, cultural, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Complete initial assessments of patient health history, learning needs, and barriers, physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs, and reassess annually.
  • Involve patients and families in the care process and collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Complete patient care treatments and testing as ordered by the physician.
  • Administer medications and immunizations using appropriate routes and techniques specific to the patient's age.
  • Comply with completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of documentation.
  • Provide education and instruction to patients and families within your scope of practice.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring that supplies in patient care areas are replenished daily.
  • Participate in quality control activities, performance improvement initiatives, and other activities to support the physician and practice.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program required.
  • Act 33 with renewal, Act 34 with renewal, and Act 73 Clearances required.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The incumbent will be required to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and to stand for long periods of time. The position also requires the ability to work in a team environment and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
