Position Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the OB/GYN department. This role offers a competitive sign-on bonus for full-time external candidates and is structured for 40 hours per week, providing essential support to our healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients in the reception area, guide them to clinical spaces, assist with check-outs, and address any inquiries.
- Conduct follow-up calls and provide telephone care as instructed by the healthcare provider and registered nurse.
- Offer patient education and counseling as directed by the provider, utilizing verbal communication and printed materials.
- Manage immunization registrations and updates as necessary.
- Prepare medical records prior to appointments, including necessary consent forms and updates to electronic medical records.
- Facilitate patient check-in by documenting vital signs, medical history, and relevant tests.
- Assist patients in completing necessary documentation and ensure accurate medication administration and record-keeping.
- Prepare examination rooms and support the physician during patient assessments and procedures.
- Handle laboratory specimens and prepare requisitions for testing.
- Coordinate follow-up care and communicate with various healthcare entities as directed.
- Document all patient interactions and care provided in the medical records.
- Ensure smooth patient flow and follow-up on necessary testing and appointments.

- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
- Fundamental medical knowledge and terminology.
- Proficient computer skills and data entry capabilities.
- Ability to accurately obtain patient vital signs.
- Experience in vaccine administration and medication preparation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
- Experience in phlebotomy and EKG.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
