SUMMARY:

The Radiology Nurse Specialist employs the nursing process to ensure the continuity and excellence of nursing care provided to patients across all age groups, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, within the Imaging Services Department. This role aligns with the overarching philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures established by the Imaging Services Department and Hospital Administration.

The nurse demonstrates the requisite knowledge and skills necessary to deliver appropriate care tailored to the specific age demographics of patients served by the Imaging Services Department.


QUALIFICATIONS:
New York State RN License Required
Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
Minimum of 1 Year of Specialized Experience Required; Procedural Experience Preferred
BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certifications Required

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Manual: Requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity
Occupational: Involves significant occupational hazards

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Requires very heavy physical effort, with the ability to exert up to 50 lbs.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Involves considerable exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste, among other factors.
