Job Title: Operating Room Technician

Long Island Community Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Operating Room Technician to join our team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient care of our patients during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, maintain, and monitor the sterile and aseptic field
  • Assist surgeons with assembling and passing instrumentation and supplies
  • Clean, stock, and maintain all instrumentation and supplies
  • Ensure infection control principles are followed for patient, self, and staff safety
  • Anticipate and respond to surgical needs
  • Document all activities and procedures
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists
  • Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization
  • Ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand for 70-90% of the day
  • Dexterous with fine or intricate instruments
  • Ability to prioritize, anticipate, and alter activities throughout the day
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active AST certification
  • 2 years of operating room experience or trauma experience
