We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Operating Room Technician to join our team at Long Island Community Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient care of our patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Providing Safe and Reliable Patient Care
- Ensure aseptic and sterile environments are maintained at all times.
- Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals in preparing and maintaining the operating room.
- Monitor and maintain equipment and supplies to ensure optimal performance.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist with patient positioning and transferring.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient procedures.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures related to infection control and patient safety.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
- Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
- Ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 30 pounds and stand for 70-90% of the workday.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- 2+ years of experience in an operating room setting.
- Active certification as an Advanced Surgical Technologist (AST).
