Our 3 Seidman Oncology/Palliative Unit is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical, neurological, and telemetry care for patients undergoing cancer treatments and related therapies.

Position Overview:

This role offers a unique opportunity for nursing students eager to begin their careers in a nurturing and supportive environment. The PRN position provides a flexible schedule, allowing you to balance academic commitments with professional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), which may include monitoring vital signs, supporting personal care, and facilitating patient mobility.
  • Communicate any significant changes in patients' physical or emotional conditions to the supervising RN.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient rooms to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Nursing students must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current BLS certification from the AHA; if not held, it must be obtained during the onboarding process.
  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform full body motion to assist and lift patients, with manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Medium Work - Capability to exert varying levels of force to move objects, requiring physical endurance.

  • Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
