In the 3 Seidman Oncology/Palliative Unit, our caregivers deliver comprehensive medical, neurological, and telemetry care to patients undergoing cancer treatment or related therapies. This role is particularly suited for nursing students eager to embark on their professional journey in a nurturing and supportive atmosphere. The PRN position offers a flexible schedule, allowing you to balance academic commitments with work and personal life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), which may include monitoring vital signs, aiding with personal hygiene, and facilitating patient mobility.
- Communicate any significant changes in patients' physical or emotional conditions to the supervising RN.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Nursing students must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current BLS certification from the AHA. If not already certified, it must be obtained during the onboarding process.
- State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform full body motion to assist and lift patients, with manual dexterity and good coordination; requires extensive standing and walking.
- Medium Work - Involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical demands exceed those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
