Delivers both routine and intricate nursing care in alignment with established patient treatment protocols. Continues to enhance skills in managing the complexities inherent in clinical nursing. Effectively assigns and delegates responsibilities to other healthcare providers to optimize patient care management.Key Responsibilities:

- Provides nursing care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, employing the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, in accordance with professional practice standards.
- Administers medications and treatments following established protocols; monitors for side effects and treatment efficacy.
- Maintains accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assesses educational needs and provides instruction to patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies relevant issues and resources.

- Employs critical thinking to evaluate the physical, psychosocial, cultural, and developmental needs of patients and families.
- Communicates assessments to appropriate healthcare team members.
- Develops and modifies individualized care plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Implements therapeutic procedures; monitors and documents patient progress.
- Evaluates care effectiveness and patient responses.
- Conducts timely reassessments and documentation.
- Standard II: Patient Throughput & Flow
- Anticipates and plans for patient admission, discharge, and transfer needs.
- Utilizes communication systems to facilitate discharge processes.
- Standard III: Unit Operations
- Plans, directs, and evaluates nursing care within a designated unit during assigned shifts.
- Ensures proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Standard IV: Safe Practice and Quality Care
- Incorporates safety practices to foster a secure environment and promote positive patient outcomes.
- Engages in nursing research and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Critical Care and one additional specialty area (e.g., Medsurg, Telemetry, IMC, or Emergency); 5 years preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, RN License in state of employment or compact, PALS within 30 days of hire, De-escalation training within 30 days of hire.
