We are seeking a dedicated and personable Driver to assist our Activity department within the esteemed retirement community Cogir at the Narrows.
The Driver/Activity Assistant will be responsible for the secure transportation of residents to various appointments and group activities, ensuring their safe boarding and alighting as required. This role involves operating the community van three days a week, while also collaborating with our Activity Director and Life Enrichment team to organize and facilitate diverse life-enrichment activities in both small and large group settings during non-driving hours. This is a full-time position, requiring commitment for five days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, dependable, and courteous transportation services for residents to various essential locations, including medical facilities, educational institutions, and shopping areas.
- Assist residents with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle, utilizing necessary equipment such as wheelchair lifts, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Lead or support engaging activities, both individually and in groups, encompassing social, educational, and recreational events.
- Facilitate a variety of programs, including games, exercise classes, arts and crafts, and special outings.
- Prepare the vehicle for operation and oversee routine maintenance as needed.
- Adhere to all traffic regulations and safety protocols during transportation.
- Maintain a valid driving license in accordance with state laws to provide transportation services.
- Assist with resident activities and event preparations as required.
Qualifications:
- A collaborative team player with a genuine passion for serving seniors.
- High School Diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Experience operating larger vehicles, or a suitable combination of training and experience.
- A valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Preferred minimum of one year experience in transportation services, ideally within the senior living or healthcare sectors, demonstrating a strong focus on customer service.
