Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor evaluates work processes to determine strategies and programs that provide greater productivity and efficiency of company functions. This role is responsible for gathering information to evaluate current work processes, developing strategies and programs to improve productivity and efficiency, and applying various industrial engineering problem-solving and productivity techniques to evaluate the improvement of recommended strategies and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate current work processes to determine the flow of work, time requirements, costs, and duration.
- Develop strategies and programs to improve productivity and efficiency of company functions.
- Apply various industrial engineering problem-solving and productivity techniques to evaluate the improvement of recommended strategies and programs.
- Provide technical support for the qualification and validation of new product introductions to ensure all aspects of performance, manufacturability, and quality are achieved.
- Provide technical support for the qualification and validation of new equipment and processes, and identify and implement new technologies to continuously improve processes.
- Instruct and lead others in continuous process improvements, including the use of various problem-solving and productivity techniques such as process mapping and cost-time management.
- Develop and coordinate programs to recognize and reward groups or individuals for suggestions and actions related to process improvement.
- Lead and support root cause analysis investigations, recommend and execute corrective actions and preventative actions.
- Develop and facilitate employee teams to build cohesiveness and improve the overall results of the respective teams' tasks.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Conduct investigations and tests pertaining to the development of new manufacturing methods, materials, or processes, and investigate possible applications of results.
Requirements
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent.
- 3+ years of manufacturing process improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in evaluating equipment, product, and process development, and solving production problems.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize solutions to a broad range of problems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Proven track record of individual accomplishment, contribution, and team-based success.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office, MS Project, or equivalent, Minitab, or equivalent statistical package.
- Application of Lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong statistical skills, problem-solving, and data analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate and listen at all levels.
- Self-motivated with a high sense of urgency, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
- Clear documentation skills.
- Able to rotate from sitting to standing and lift up to 25 pounds.
