Job Summary:

This part-time position is responsible for driving a school bus on an as-needed basis, transporting students to and from assigned education centers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a school bus on an as-needed basis, transporting students to and from assigned education centers.
  • Monitor and control passenger behavior on the bus.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the bus at all times.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Attend safety meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements:
  • Valid Georgia Commercial Driver License with an S and P and air brake Endorsement.
  • High School Education or GED preferred.
  • Must successfully complete the Bus Driver Training Program provided by the Cobb County Transportation Department.
  • Ability to lift equipment and/or students weighing 40 pounds.
  • Pre-employment and annual physical examination required.
Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position with a split shift schedule. Work hours may vary during the school year. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and have excellent communication skills.
