Job Summary:

As a Transportation Specialist with the Cobb County School District, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school. This part-time position requires a reliable and responsible individual who can operate a school bus on a split shift schedule, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Transport students to and from school, following designated routes and schedules
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and cleanliness
Fuel the bus as needed and record data in the auto-fueling system
Deliver the bus to the Fleet Maintenance shop as directed by the pre-arranged monthly schedule
Submit reports and time sheets in a timely manner as required by the Transportation Department
Attend bus driver safety meetings and training sessions

Requirements:

Valid Georgia Commercial Driver License with an S and P and air brake Endorsement (must be at least 21 years of age to obtain license)
High School Education or GED preferred
Must successfully complete Bus Driver Training Program provided by Cobb County Transportation Department
Ability to lift equipment and/or student weighing 40 pounds; pre-employment and annual physical examination required

Working Conditions:

Work hours are a split shift and may vary during the school year
Must be able to operate the bus in various weather conditions, including sun, fog, rain, sleet, hail, snow, and ice
Must be able to maintain a professional appearance and establish cordial relations with parents, administrators, other employees, and the general public
