The Opportunity

RS&H is seeking a Water Resources Engineer for our Transportation Practice in Charlotte or Raleigh, NC.

This position will be responsible for stormwater management, drainage design, hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling, and environmental permitting in accordance with NCDOT, state transportation agencies, and local municipalities standards, criteria, and accepted practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement stormwater management plans
  • Design and analyze drainage systems
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Prepare environmental permit applications
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent experience
  • Professional registration (PE) within the field of engineering
  • Minimum five years' relevant experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with riverine modeling using HEC-RAS
  • Experience with 2-dimensional bridge hydraulics modeling
  • Experience using ArcGIS for water resources projects
  • Experience with floodplain studies and FEMA LOMC
  • Experience with design-build and/or other alternative delivery projects
