Job Summary

We are seeking qualified educators to join our team as Full-Time Teachers at the Oregon School for the Deaf. As a teacher at our school, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality education to deaf and hard-of-hearing students, fostering their academic and personal growth, and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tailored educational programs to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Provide instruction and services to students in various curriculum levels
  • Supervise students during special activities and provide support to those facing emotional or behavioral challenges
  • Train teaching assistants, volunteers, college practicum students, or student teachers as needed
Requirements
  • Oregon Teaching License/Certificate for teaching deaf/hard-of-hearing students or the ability to obtain it by the start date
  • ASL Proficiency of or better upon hire, with certification required within 12 weeks of the start date

About the Oregon School for the Deaf

The Oregon School for the Deaf is a state-funded school providing direct 24-hour educational and residential services to approximately 130 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, kindergarten through age 21. Our school acts as a resource to the entire state, providing special activities, consultation, and educational services to students, professionals, families, and the public.
