Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes for cardiology-related services
  • Ensure prompt and precise submission of claims for reimbursement
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to maintain coding and billing accuracy
  • Perform regular audits to ensure coding precision
  • Provide education to providers and staff regarding coding standards and documentation necessities
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
  • Previous experience in medical coding within a healthcare setting
  • Expertise in ICD-10 diagnosis coding and CPT evaluation and management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
  • Familiarity with cardiology terminology and procedures is preferred
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous
  • A clinical background is beneficial
