Job Summary

BART is seeking a highly skilled Benefits Manager to join its Human Resources Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the operations and activities of the Benefits Division, which includes administering employee benefits and retirement programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the District's health benefits, financial security programs, and retirement plans
  • Oversee audits and reviews related to benefit and retirement plans
  • Assist with development of policies related to pension or Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB)
  • Provide oversight of operations, activities, strategies, goals, and reporting
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources administration, public administration, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Five years of full-time professional experience in benefits and/or retirement administration in a human resources setting, with at least two years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of Public Employees Retirement Law and Public Employees Medical and Hospital Care Act
  • Operational characteristics, services, and activities of a comprehensive employee benefits program
