Status: FULL-TIME / PART TIME

Immediate Supervisor: REHABILITATION MANAGER

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited culinary program.

• At least 1 year of experience in institutional food preparation with supervisory duties.

• Valid California driver’s license and proof of insurance required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist regularly.

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Comfortable working in high-temperature environments.

• Proficient in visual inspections and following recipes.

• Ability to smell and taste for quality control.

• Capable of performing repetitive motion tasks.

• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Organize kitchen tasks to ensure timely meal preparation, serving, and cleanup.

2. Educate and oversee kitchen staff on proper cooking methods.

3. Instruct kitchen personnel on food safety, workplace safety, and sanitation practices, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.

4. Ensure kitchen equipment is in good condition, coordinating maintenance and repairs as necessary.

5. Conduct bi-weekly inventory of supplies and manage stock rotation for freshness.

6. Order food supplies adhering to nutritional guidelines and budget constraints.

7. Foster and maintain relationships with various suppliers, including local food banks.

8. Manage petty cash for weekly food purchases, following approved accounting procedures.

9. Collaborate with the Director of Special Services for menu planning and special events.

10. Assist in cooking and serving as required.

11. Consult with professional staff regarding beneficiary services as needed.

12. Keep management informed about staffing needs.

13. Ensure compliance with personnel policies and take necessary disciplinary actions.

14. Maintain safety measures in accordance with organizational policies and regulations.

15. Uphold confidentiality standards as required for program operations.

16. Overtime must be pre-approved by the supervisor, with proper documentation on timecards.

17. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
