Job Overview

Minga Education Group is seeking a dedicated individual to join our vibrant educational community as a Paraprofessional and After School Leader. This role is essential in fostering a nurturing environment for children through our innovative after-school programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist students in the Community Learning Center, providing essential academic support and interventions.
  • Lead and engage in after-school and out-of-school activities, ensuring a safe and enriching experience for all participants.
  • Maintain open communication with the Program Director and educators to align on program goals and student needs.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of out-of-school time programs, contributing creative ideas and solutions.
  • Engage with parents, students, and community members respectfully and confidentially.
  • Identify necessary supplies and resources, communicating needs to the Lead Educator.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Principal and Program Director.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, with hours from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, or alternative schedules available. This position is year-round, including summer opportunities.

Contract Duration: One year with the possibility of renewal based on funding availability.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Commitment to positively mentoring youth.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications (training can be provided).
  • Successful completion of required background checks.
  • Ability to perform all responsibilities outlined in this job description.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Good physical condition, capable of lifting up to 10 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in school or community-based out-of-school programs.
  • Understanding of after-school programming and positive youth development.
  • Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) are a plus.
