Project Engineer

JT Wimsatt Contracting, Inc. is a prominent entity in the construction sector, established in 1992, committed to delivering projects with exceptional quality, punctuality, and budget adherence for our clientele. We cater to both public and private sector clients across a diverse array of commercial, industrial, residential, governmental, and specialized construction projects.

We are in search of a Project Engineer for our operations. This role will report directly to the Project Manager.

At JT Wimsatt, you will have the chance to engage in significant projects that you can take pride in. If you are a recent graduate aiming to launch a career in construction management or possess prior experience as a Project Engineer, we welcome your application.

As a Project Engineer, you will be involved from the initiation of the construction process through to project completion. Our organization provides opportunities for you to engage in various aspects of the construction process, including pre-planning, management of labor, materials, and equipment, scheduling, financial oversight, and cost estimation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate, document, distribute, and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) and Submittals with project teams.
  • Develop and monitor weekly labor objectives and production metrics.
  • Create quality control reports and surveys to ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Assist in tracking and recording construction work schedules.
  • Collaborate with clients and design teams to enhance design and constructability.
Position Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A combination of construction management and engineering experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.
  • Ability to adapt swiftly in a dynamic work environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
Candidates will undergo background checks and drug screening and must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
