Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional to join our Emergency Medicine team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, coordinate hospitalization, and collaborate with emergency medicine faculty to develop comprehensive plans of care.

Responsibilities
  • Manage comprehensive and individualized care for emergency medicine patients and their families in the DEM and immediate post-discharge in the ambulatory setting.
  • Complete pre-procedure evaluations, integrated assessments, and diagnostic tests following established clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
  • Consult and communicate with DEM clinic and hospital staff regarding abnormal findings in patient evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, including teaching, discharge planning, and necessary referrals to other members of the healthcare team or admission as necessary.
  • Collaborate with emergency medicine faculty, administrators, and directors to collect outcome measures and participate in clinical trials and research studies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a CCNE-accredited nursing program with a Master's Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant.
  • National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers or Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia or licensure by the WV Board of Medicine or WV Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
  • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACNP or FNP considered; American Heart Association PALS certification is encouraged.
  • Masters-level education as a Medical/Surgical Physician Assistant preferred.
