Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled LPN (Continuous Care Center) to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our RNs to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Continuous Care Center, including assessments, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Work closely with our RNs to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in our electronic medical record system.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of nursing with a current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of West Virginia.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Three (3) years' emergency or critical care nursing experience.
  • Five (5) years' nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrolled in an RN or BSN program.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.
  • AHA National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care in a team-based setting. You will work closely with our RNs and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and communication.

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and policies/standards/protocols.
  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient use of Information Technology devices.
  • Proficient use of Medical Equipment.
  • Proficient use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

This is a non-exempt position with a scheduled weekly hours of 24. The shift for this position is not specified.
