As a key member of our organization, you will engage in defense technology projects and R&D efforts, collaborating with experts in simulation technologies and military Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee plans for model-based systems engineering tools that enhance both hardware and software for cutting-edge autonomous aerial refueling systems.
- Analyze and comprehend the primary objectives of autonomous air refueling, assessing architectures and digital models that utilize Digital Engineering Tools such as SysML and CAMEO.
- Collaborate with government and industry partners to evaluate, implement, and maintain essential programs and capabilities that drive technological advancement.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct complex technology studies and support system-level integration and validation.
- Define and analyze air refueling missions, evaluating mission capabilities and performance across various scenarios.
- Assess vendor systems engineering practices to facilitate risk reduction.
- Perform end-to-end aircraft system architecture analyses and simulate operational tasking and resource utilization.
- Frame conceptual challenges and develop methodologies for modeling, simulating, and analyzing those challenges.
Communicate clear insights and observations derived from complex technical data to senior leadership and external stakeholders. Collaborate with diverse organizations to gather necessary authoritative data and analytic techniques, ensuring consistency with the broader DoD analytic community.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of customer-related requirements.
- A minimum of a BS degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related technical field, accompanied by 12 years of relevant technical experience.
- Candidates must undergo a U.S. Government background investigation and meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information, including the ability to obtain a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in applying the scientific method to various MS&A efforts.
- Experience in scripting and/or programming with languages/tools such as C++, Python, R, JMP, or STK.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in creating AFSIM scenarios and models for engagement or mission-level studies.
- An MS in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- An active security clearance at the Secret level or higher.
- Familiarity with contemporary military systems, both domestic and international.
