Job Summary

The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Social Services Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our social services team, you will provide direct assistance to eligible clients, research and provide referrals to county resources, and ensure compliance with program policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and interview clients to determine eligibility for assistance
  • Record client dispositions and other pertinent information
  • Assist clients in completing applications for assistance
  • Verify social security cards and photocopy identification cards, payroll statements, and utility bills
  • Arrange transportation for eligible clients
  • Serve as liaison to other agencies to obtain/coordinate assistance
  • Initiate intake and case plans for Pathway of Hope clients
  • Prepare case records and logs for all assigned clients
  • Meet regularly with clients to discuss and evaluate their progress
  • Refer clients to appropriate Corps programs or other agencies
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required
  • Six months experience working with the public, preferably in a security or social service environment
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to type and keypunch information into a computer
  • Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically
  • Ability to operate various general office equipment
  • Ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle
