About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team in the Acute Dialysis department at Ochsner Health. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our nursing staff in maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the plan of care as delegated by staff nurses within the scope of your skills verification.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
  • Provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
  • Communicate patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Complete documentation of patient-related tasks.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions, and communication style.
Requirements
  • Current Louisiana Certification as a Nurses' Assistant (CNA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association to be obtained within 30 days from hire
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) to be obtained within 30 days from hire
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekend, holiday, on-call availability)
