About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Acute Dialysis Unit at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the plan of care as delegated by the staff nurse within the scope of your skills and training.
  • Provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
  • Communicate patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Complete documentation of patient-related tasks.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions, and communication style.
Requirements
  • Current Louisiana Certification as a Nurses' Assistant (CNA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association to be obtained within 30 days from hire
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) to be obtained within 30 days from hire
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including 24/7, weekend, holiday, and on-call availability
