Job Description

Penn State Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinic PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a nursing job in Enola, Pennsylvania.

Job Summary

The 8 North Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Penn State Health Holy Spirit is a 11 bed unit that operates as a step down progressive care unit (PCU).

The RN Clinical Staff Leader is responsible for assisting in supervising nursing staff; for providing leadership and orientation to nursing personnel; and for performing a variety of nursing duties in order to coordinate the delivery of care to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in supervising nursing staff
  • Provide leadership and orientation to nursing personnel
  • Perform a variety of nursing duties to coordinate the delivery of care to patients
  • Update Smart Square scheduling system as needed
  • Participate in unit and/or hospital-based committees to contribute to organizational initiatives
  • Report compliance issues and operational needs to Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager
  • Follow up on audits and provide support to individuals requiring improvement
  • Conduct crucial conversations and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) as necessary
  • Share audit trends and best practices during huddles and shared governance meetings
  • Assist Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager/Educator with competencies or interview processes as needed
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • 2-3 years RN registered nurse experience in acute care setting
  • Previous work experience in a supervisory, management or other healthcare leadership capacity
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
