We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Relay Engineer to join our team at Consolidated Edison Company of New York. As a key member of our Transmission and Substation Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and applying utility-grade relay systems to transmission and substation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement relay systems for transmission and substation systems
  • Provide engineering support to operations groups throughout the company
  • Ensure safe work practices and environmental protection in accordance with company policy and governmental regulations
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of relay protection schemes, one-line diagrams, and relay setting calculations
  • Work with engineers and senior engineers to support field personnel in developing relay system testing and analyzing system problems
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and 1-3 years of total work experience
  • Experience and/or knowledge of transmission relay design, settings, and testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical, technical, and computer skills
  • Ability to apply good individual judgment, initiative, creativity, and decision-making in handling assignments
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY, NJ, or PA
  • Knowledge of ASPEN and SEL/GE software
