Job Summary

A Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the setup, service, and cleanup of all assigned banquet functions. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure seamless execution of events.

Responsibilities
  • Qualifications:
    • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field required.
    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • College coursework in a related field is helpful.
    • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
    • Proficiency in Windows 95 and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing is required.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
    • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
    • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
    • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
    • Inspect the setup of meeting and banquet functions to ensure they meet hotel standards.
    • Supervise and assist with the setup of assigned banquet functions.
    • Act as the liaison between Sales and Catering Manager and the in-house meeting or banquet contact.
    • Respond to guests' problems, complaints, and accidents.
    • Communicate problems/issues to the Food & Beverage Manager and/or General Manager.
    • Assist the Food & Beverage Manager/Banquet Manager with scheduling Banquet staff.
    • Assist in the service of banquet functions as required.
    • Assist in banquet setup as required.
    • Requisition liquor for all banquet bars and maintain proper control over service thereof.
    • Supervise and assist with the breakdown after the completion of functions.
    • Inspect the sanitation of all function space and storage areas.
    • Follow all state liquor laws.
    • Be familiar with Banquet menus and prices.
    • Know hotel services and facilities.
    • Enforce all hotel policies and safety rules.
    • Be familiar with and enforce all Standard Operating Procedures for the Banquet department.
    • Ensure employees are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees.
    • Hire and train staff to meet hotel service standards.
    • Respond to guests' requests as needed.
    • Assist audio/visual companies as necessary.
    • Prepare banquet checks, obtain guest signatures, and inform clients of payment procedures.
    • Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S. system.
    • Correct hazards and notify management.
    • Attend meetings as assigned.
    • Cross-train in the Cafe for assistance as a supervisor.
    • Submit orders for all supplies to the Food & Beverage Manager for approval and maintain inventory levels.
    • Handle items for Lost and Found according to hotel standards.
    • Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager.
