This role involves assembling and fitting components according to specified dimensions of various structural, plate, and mechanical materials.
The production assembler is expected to demonstrate a high level of skill in the trade, including a solid understanding of blueprints and the thermal properties of structural metals.
Key Responsibilities:1. Receive and interpret instructions, drawings, sketches, and work orders.
2. Analyze blueprints to plan the fitting operations effectively.
3. Oversee and assist in the handling and arrangement of materials, ensuring proper assembly according to detailed drawings; manage the placement of bolts, drift pins, and other fastening devices accurately.
4. Set up work lines or fit jigs for material positioning as necessary; verify, square, and mark all detail connections.
5. Ensure all work complies with the provided drawings and specifications.6. Prepare materials by grinding or chipping as needed.
7. Perform burn and tack welding for assembly purposes, including burning, coping, beveling, and straightening materials. Conduct structural fit-up and layout.
8. Apply spot paint for identification purposes.
9. Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
10. Execute other routine tasks as directed by management.
It is essential to adhere to all safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in welding and fitting is required.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and procedural manuals is essential.
- Candidates must successfully complete a fitting assessment.
