POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Enforcement Division Captain, this role involves advanced licensing operations.
The primary responsibilities include evaluating license applications, interpreting licensing regulations, and providing guidance on compliance with statutory requirements. The incumbent will make determinations to approve or reject applications based on established laws, administrative guidelines, and organizational policies.
This position operates with a degree of autonomy, allowing for independent decision-making within defined parameters.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assess and process license applications for reactivations and out-of-state eligibility.
2. Conduct thorough criminal history checks utilizing state-approved systems.
3. Clearly communicate licensing criteria and relevant information pertaining to agency and legal requirements.
4. Enter application data and essential technical information into designated software systems.
5. Make informed decisions to approve or deny applications based on compliance with laws and policies.
6. Maintain accurate records related to licensing processes and prepare necessary documentation for approvals or denials.
7. Manage program data concerning application outcomes and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
8. Draft official notices, correspondence, and reports regarding licensing status and compliance matters.
9. Assist in the enrollment and withdrawal processes for licensees in relevant databases.
10. Ensure the protection of confidential information in accordance with established protocols.
11. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for administrative and technical support related to licensing.
12. Offer guidance and technical assistance to the public, agency personnel, and government officials regarding licensing inquiries and processes.
13. Adhere to all organizational policies and ethical standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Experience in customer service, administrative support, or technical roles is essential.
A degree from a two-year college or equivalent experience is preferred.
Certifications related to TCIC/NCIC and TLETS are advantageous.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to successfully complete a law enforcement background check.
Capability to obtain necessary certifications for database access.
Familiarity with analyzing criminal history data from relevant databases.
Proficiency in standard office practices and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with the public and address inquiries in a professional manner.
