About the Role

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.

Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification or must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner Certificate issued by the Texas Medical Board.
  • RRT certification issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • 1 year critical care experience required.
  • Must be able to work nights and rotating weekends as this is a night shift.
