Missile Defense Systems Modeling and Analysis Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Missile Defense Systems Modeling and Analysis Engineer to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and assessing Missile Defense systems, modeling and analyzing complex systems, and leading assessments of fielded systems to identify opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and assess Missile Defense systems using advanced modeling and simulation techniques
  • Model and analyze complex systems to identify areas for improvement
  • Lead assessments of fielded systems to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop innovative concepts and algorithms to improve Missile Defense capabilities
  • Conduct analysis to assess potential future systems performance
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or equivalent degree
  • At least 1+ years of experience in a professional engineering setting with Department of Defense focus
  • Proficiency using MATLAB to conduct modeling and simulation, perform analysis, and create visualizations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance by start date and Top Secret level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Domain knowledge of Missile Defense Agency, Navy, Army, or Space Force systems, sensors, battle managers, and kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities
  • Proven experience in leading complex, multi-disciplinary analyses
  • Proficiency using version control software to develop MATLAB simulations in a team environment
  • Top Secret or higher clearance
