We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist to join our Mental Health Team at the Central Alabama VA Medical Center. As a member of our team, you will provide high-quality care to our patients and contribute to the development of our mental health services.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychiatric services to our patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to our patients.

- Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients
- Participate in the development of our mental health services and contribute to the improvement of patient outcomes
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support for patients
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A medical degree and board certification in psychiatry
- Experience working in a mental health setting, preferably in a VA hospital
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Salary range for well-qualified Psychiatrist will be competitive for the academic rank with consideration given to candidate's qualifications, credentials and experience
- Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus), Relocation Incentive & be eligible to apply for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), and if approved, receive up to $200k in school loan repayment
- Paid Time Off in the form of 26 Days paid annual leave, 13 Days paid sick leave per year, 12 weeks of maternity or paternity leave, 11 Federal holidays with pay
