Job Summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our dynamic healthcare team at the Central Alabama Veteran Health Care System. As a Staff Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services to our veteran patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose and treat mental health conditions
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address the unique needs of each patient
  • Provide medication management and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive mental health services
  • Supervise and mentor residents and trainees in psychiatry
Requirements
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry or Neurology
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States
  • English language proficiency
