Position Summary


Department Manager - Oversee and manage the housekeeping, laundry, and floor care teams at a single site, adhering to policies, procedures, and federal/state regulations.

Responsible for leading teams to complete light housekeeping, heavy housekeeping, and laundry aide duties across various shifts.
Training & Development - Facilitate staff training, quality control, and in-service education.

Coordinate and ensure the timely and satisfactory completion of project and program work within the facility across different shifts.

Conduct regular tours of the building to assess work quality using Quality Control Inspections (QCIs) for documentation purposes.
Reporting - Maintain records of income and expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment.
Communication - Serve as the liaison between building occupants or administrators and HCSG staff. Effectively communicate all directives from managers, building occupants, and administrators to HCSG staff.
Safety - Utilize protective gear for all relevant tasks.

Assist in training staff on the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions while adhering to all safety protocols.

Report equipment and cleaning product needs or malfunctions to the supervisor promptly. Ensure compliance with established standards, safety, and quality guidelines.

Follow infection control and universal precautions policies to maintain a sanitary environment at all times.

Adhere to proper reporting, isolation, and handwashing procedures/techniques. Assist in implementing training, quality control procedures, and in-service education for housekeeping staff.
Punctuality - Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality. Complete assigned cleaning areas according to schedule. Respond to the paging system promptly and appropriately.
Customer Experience - Represent HCSG positively by following instructions and maintaining courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
Resident Experience - Foster positive, pleasant, and tactful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.

Qualifications

Exhibit a positive attitude with the ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform routine, repetitive tasks daily.

Upon completing all necessary training, utilize leadership skills to fulfill all responsibilities independently and safely.

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Two years of experience in Environmental Services within a healthcare setting and personnel supervision is desired.
Must be able to report to work as scheduled and on time.
Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by State, Local, and/or Customers.

Must be capable of lifting/carrying a maximum of 50 pounds, pushing/pulling a maximum of 50 pounds, and standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.

Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
Must reside within the service area.
