Position Summary
The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team on the Behavioral Health Unit, focusing on delivering quality care to individuals involved in the justice system. This role is crucial in providing a supportive environment for those struggling with various substance use issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct crisis stabilization and comprehensive evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and discharge plans in partnership with Qualified Behavioral Health Professionals.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Assess clients' functioning levels and provide educational resources regarding the impact of substance use.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in documentation and reporting.
  • Engage in collaborative treatment planning with medical staff and community providers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical or counseling role within a public or private agency.
  • Possession of a substance use certification (e.g., CAC, CADC, CAADC, LADC) is required.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation.
