Job Responsibilities and Requirements

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering exceptional, patient-focused care by executing a range of delegated basic nursing tasks. Collaborating with Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals, the LPN ensures personalized, high-quality care that aligns with established standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, evidence-based nursing care as instructed by physicians or RNs.
  • Assist in medical procedures and patient monitoring as required.
  • Conduct laboratory tests and other procedures within the LPN scope of practice, following competency verification.
  • Accurately document patient care activities in medical records.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for colleagues, students, and volunteers to enhance patient care quality.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within the first month of employment.
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • IV Certification for LPNs must be obtained within five years of employment.
