Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our medical center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine patient care within the scope of the Practical Nurse Act of Pennsylvania, under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the physical, medical, and psychosocial needs of patients are met.
  • Assist the RN and team in evaluating, planning, and implementing plans of care.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medication, taking vital signs, and performing basic diagnostic tests.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families about hospital stay and home care concerns.
  • Participate in health care conferences and contribute to the universal unit activities.
Requirements
  • Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • CPR certification based on AHA standards.
  • Must complete licensure examination within four months of hire or within one year of graduation.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Act 34 clearance.
  • Older Adults Protective Services Act (OAPSA) clearance.
