Job Title: Peer Support Specialist - Part-Time Evenings and Weekends

Hushabye Nursery is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to substance-exposed babies and their families. We are seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our team and help make a difference in the lives of these vulnerable individuals.

Job Summary:

The Peer Support Specialist will work collaboratively with staff to provide support and guidance to clients seeking or in active recovery. The ideal candidate will have significant life-altering experience with substance use disorder and be living in recovery. This is a part-time position working late afternoon/evening shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching, and support to clients seeking or in active recovery.
  • Assist clients in identifying effective coping techniques, self-help strategies, and increasing social support networks.
  • Collaborate with local programs and assist participants in accessing community resources and support services.
  • Facilitate or assist in group and individual settings to promote recovery.
  • Serve as an advocate for clients, including DCS meetings and writing letters of recommendation as requested.
Requirements:
  • AZ Credentialed (having successfully completed and passed Arizona's recognized competency exam for Peer Recovery Support Specialist).
  • Minimum one year in recovery.
  • Experience with navigating a behavioral health system and other community support programs is preferred.
