Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and assess the physical and emotional status of mothers and newborns during labor and delivery, providing appropriate interventions as needed.
- Administer medications and assist with pain management techniques.
- Assist with the delivery process, including monitoring fetal heart rate and coaching mothers through contractions.
- Provide postpartum care and education to mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and advancements in labor and delivery and mother-baby care.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery and/or mother-baby care.
- BLS and NRP certifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Flexibility to work day shifts and occasional weekends as needed.
