Labor and Delivery Nurse

Confident Staff Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a temporary position in the Labor and Delivery/Mother Baby unit at a hospital.
As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to mothers and newborns during the labor and delivery process, as well as postpartum care for both mother and baby.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess the physical and emotional status of mothers and newborns during labor and delivery, providing appropriate interventions as needed
- Administer medications and assist with pain management techniques
- Assist with the delivery process, including monitoring fetal heart rate and coaching mothers through contractions
- Provide postpartum care and education to mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient
- Document patient care and maintain accurate records
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and advancements in labor and delivery and mother baby care
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery and/or mother baby care
- BLS and NRP certifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and patient centered care
- Flexibility to work day shifts and occasional weekends as needed
