Job Title: Steward - Off-Premise Catering

Proof of the Pudding is seeking a highly motivated and organized Steward to join our Off-Premise Catering team. As a Steward, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our events and catering services.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dish area, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
  • Ensure the timely storage of food deliveries and maintain the dry storage area.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing the china room and warehouse.
  • Follow the posted daily dish cleaning duties and assist in food prep as needed.
Requirements:
  • 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen or as a steward is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • ServSafe Certified preferred.
Work Environment:

This position will be stationed out of Proof's corporate office located in West Midtown. The majority of time will be spent in the kitchen and dish pit area, where there will be hot water, chemicals, and typical kitchen equipment and utensils.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving through a kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces.
  • Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.
  • Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
