Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and thought leadership in software wellness, contributing to sponsor work programs and shaping department strategy.
  • Work with sponsors and project leads to understand their needs and future vision, developing position papers, publications, and proposals to establish technical stature.
  • Formulate innovative approaches for transition to sponsors, MITRE's internal IR&D program, or external grants.
Requirements:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 7 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 4 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Experience managing projects and/or experience as a direct supervisor/group lead.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
  • Experience developing work programs, shaping work programs, and creating sponsor relationships, especially as related to cyber software engineering, intel, public sector, and/or DOD cyber work programs.
  • 10+ years experience in modern software engineering tools and techniques such as Python, Java, C/C++, and/or Javascript.
  • Experience working with large software systems and large software system processes (technical debt mitigation, agile development, system architecture, legacy modernization, etc).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Masters or other advanced degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
