Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Founded 32 years ago, Allied Consultants is a premier provider of technical and business staffing solutions for the State of Texas. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to be a key resource on a technical services team for our client, the Texas Health and Human Service Commission (HHSC).

Location of Job: Remote

Candidates must reside within Texas.

Responsibilities

The client requires the services of a Database Administrator who meets the general qualification of Database Administrator 3.

Key Duties:

  • Advanced performance tuning on complex processes on multi-terabyte databases with heavy transaction volumes.
  • Installing Oracle Database 19c, Oracle RAC, and Golden Gate to establish a new database tier and capacity planning for the ERP upgrade project.
  • Standard administration and support responsibilities of backup, recovery, monitoring, troubleshooting, tuning, and assisting the upgrade project team as needs arise.
  • Work outside of standard business hours depending on the project activities and system maintenance schedule to minimize the impact on the project team's productivity.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team using collaboration tools in a remote work environment.
  • Estimate work, set deadlines, and prioritize work to align with the project schedule.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8 years of Oracle Database 12c or higher.
  • 8 years of Oracle RAC.
  • 8 years of Golden Gate.
  • 8 years advanced SQL.
  • 8 years of shell scripting.
  • 8 years supporting multi-terabyte database.
  • 8 years advanced performance tuning.
  • 8 years at least 4 years experience with Microsoft O365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • 8 years or at least 2 years experience with MS Team and Channel communication with a large team.

Preferred:

4 years experience working with a public sector organization (Federal, State, or Local Government).

2 years experience with SharePoint.

1 year experience with Jira.

1 year experience working with the Scrum framework.
