Job Overview

SiloSmashers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle APEX Developer to lead our team of developers and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality applications.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of developers, providing guidance, mentoring, and technical direction.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Oracle APEX applications, developing code in Oracle (PL/SQL).
  • Perform complex data analysis and manipulation to support business intelligence and reporting needs.
  • Expertise in database design, normalization, and ER modeling.
  • Implement reliable and efficient data extraction and automation services.
  • Troubleshoot production issues across business areas and across different technologies.
  • Optimize database and application performance, including tuning PL/SQL code and indexing strategies.
  • Implement reliable and efficient data integration and automation services.
  • Work within an agile development environment, utilizing agile methodologies and practices.
  • Collaborate with business clients, IT staff, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement improvements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of data structures, queries, reports, and development processes.
  • Manage quality assurance and testing efforts to ensure the reliability and performance of applications.
  • Ensure applications adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Apply business process improvement practices and re-engineer methodologies to enhance application development and deployment processes.
  • Recommends changes in data structures to support data integrity, reporting accuracy, and acceptable performance.
  • Provides qualitative feedback for IT staff mentoring purposes.
  • Supports data integrity, data quality, and audit efforts as needed.
  • Carries out other duties as may be assigned or requested.
  • Performs all functions of the job in a safe and conscientious manner.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in PL/SQL, Oracle RDBMS.
  • 5+ years of experience in Oracle APEX development.
  • Demonstrated experience in web-based programming (HTML, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with standard business processes and reporting.
  • Oracle Database 11g and higher: SQL and PL/SQL New Features training.
  • Eligible for Public Trust Clearance.
  • US Citizenship Required.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Master's degree substitutes for 3 years of experience.
  • Active PMP and CSM (Scrum Master) certifications required.

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Advanced PL/SQL programming, including triggers, procedures, packages, and functions.
  • Proficiency in Oracle APEX development and associated web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Expertise in database design, normalization, and ER modeling.
  • Knowledge of Oracle database administration and architecture.
  • Skills in performance tuning, including indexing and query optimization.
  • Understanding of Oracle security features and best practices.
  • Integration and ETL: Experience with integrating Oracle databases with other systems.
  • Web Technologies: Proficiency in web technologies used with Oracle APEX, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful Web Services.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Skills in unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing frameworks.
  • MS Power Platform is a plus.
