Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Police and Fire Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our OnPrem Microsoft server systems, Linux Servers, and virtual appliances.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Windows and Linux server systems, including patching, upgrades, migrations, expansions, system builds, and decommissioning.
  • Provide application support for servers, including Exchange, Domain Controllers, SharePoint, SCCM, Certificate Services, and Federated services.
  • Configure and maintain DNS and DHCP services, including record types and options, and scope types.
  • Perform vulnerability remediation and reporting on Windows and Linux servers, including CVE number representation, finding solutions, and implementing solutions.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell and bash scripting updates, including task Scheduler or Cron jobs.
  • Implement and enforce standards throughout OS and documentation.
  • Review and maintain daily jobs, including scheduled tasks.
  • Security and hardening of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Proactively provide management recommendations for budgeting and business plans.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years hands-on Microsoft and/or Linux experience (design and implementation).
  • 5+ years Windows OS experience as it relates to servers.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related experience and/or training.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Servers and their roles and features.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments and various levels of management in a constructive manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work an OnCall rotation and assist after hours as needed.
  • Ability to work varying hours, sometimes includes evening and weekend work.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Visio.
